Kompong Phluk
Tonle Sap Lake and Kompong Phluk village scenes - Tonle Sap Lake and the area around it is in constant change because the water rises up to 20 feet during the course of the year. Therefore all the inhabitants either build their houses on stilts, live in small houses that can easily be transported to new dry land every month or so, or live in house boats. Elephant Terrace
Siem Reap Town - The Terrace des Elephants is currently being renovated but it is typical of the fantastic colonial era architecture that can be found in the Old Market section of Siem Reap. More pictures and info on the following pages.
Market meats
Siem Reap Old Market - the market plays a central role in the lives of the local population as well as providing many unique (and some not so unique) souvenirs for the tourists who flock to it every day. It is also the center of a very active tourist and expat community, full of restaurants, art galleries, guest houses and the now world famous nightlife of Pub Street. Road Construction
July 14, 2007 - The trip from Poipet to Siem Reap - the roads are bumpy and under construction all the way. There are a lot of places labled "Detour" where you go through a bumpy chicane around a site like this one. In some places there is actual construction taking place, others look like they will remain in detour mode for a long time tio come. More pictures and info on the following pages.

Bus Stop
July 13, 2007 - The trip from Pattaya to Aranyaprathet - this is the Mukdahan - Pattaya bus which makes about six or seven trips between Pattaya and Aranyaprathet every day. The trip takes approximately five and a half hours and costs 220 Baht. More pictures and info on the following pages.
