Royal Plowing Ceremony - In 2014 it will be held in Phnom Penh on the 17th of May (I have seen various dates announced, so it is probably a good idea to check with your hotel or a local tour guide). It marks the beginning of the rice growing season and is held on the 4th day of the 6th lunar month's waning moon. The ceremony is held near the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh and has also been held (in 2010) in front of the Elephant Terrace in Angkor Thom, Siem Reap. There is usually a member of the Royal family in attendance, or the Prime Minister. - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Ploughing_Ceremony
